Wye Oak – Savannah Stopover Music Festival – 6 Mar 2014
Opening Night!
If only there were more hours in the day, or minutes in the hour – we could only get to three out of 25 (!) of the innovative and eclectic acts playing last night out at opening night of Savannah Stopover. SS is a “stop” on the way to next week’s South by Southwest festival – and this is a way to see many of those bands in much smaller and more intimate venues, for a lot less money, and where the feeling is one of more closeness and sympatico and dare we say … less corporate. SXSW has gotten pretty big since its early days …
Incan Abraham started last night off with Bear Hands coming up second and Wye Oak rounding out the night into the wee hours. Galleries are only partially completed – unfortunately the Wi-Fi here is tempermental -more will be posted later. Wye Oak in particular will need to wait – check back; we got some lovely shots of the beautiful Jenn Wasner. Such great lighting last night! Hoping for more of the same tonight.
