Five Finger Death Punch, known familiarly to their devoted fans as 5FDP, continued their highly anticipated double-headliner tour with Volbeat at Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, GA. With five studio albums, an EP, and assorted singles and videos since their original formation in LA in 2005 by guitarist Zoltán Báthory and drummer Jeremy Spencer, the band had a lot of material to choose from and audience reactions said they made the right decisions on the setlist. Toward the end of the set, lead vocalist Ivan Moody invited a bunch of kids who came through the meet-and-greet to join him up on stage during “Burn Mother Fucker” – interesting choice for a song to sing for kids but most likely they couldn’t understand the words anyway, given the music style. And he did give a sweet speech about missing his own children while on the road. Those kids sure were happy to be up there – that’s a story they’ll have for their own kids when they have to explain how mommy and daddy actually are a little bit cool.
In a collaboration with Live Nation, this show was filmed for live streaming on Yahoo and the crowd did not disappoint. It’s still up at least for now at https://screen.yahoo.com/live/event/five-finger-death-punch.
5FDP will have two more dates on this tour – 10/22 in Rio Rancho, NM; and 10/24 at The Joint at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, NV. For more information and tickets, please visit fivefingerdeathpunch.com or facebook.com/fivefingerdeathpunch
